Horsing Around

Latest News :blahblah:

Okay well I am once again living in a different place of residence. Life tossed me some curve balls this year, but so far I'm managing to handle the changes all right. Anyway, enough of life drama that doesn't include art!

My recent return to the world of horsemanship this year has renewed my love for the sport of riding as well as the horses themselves. This has become blatantly obvious in the art that I've been churning out this year. Horses are also proving to be an excellent focus for my return to drawing as well as for learning to master my Wacom tablet and Photoshop CS 2 that my roommate Ruby is allowing me to use from her computer.

With each new piece I produce this autumn, I learn something new in drawing as well as coloring techniques all done through the tablet. I'm forcing myself to go all digital for a while to get in the practice I need to be able to use my Wacom tablet to it's fullest potential.

The love of horses and the need to constantly be working on my art skills when I have the time have driven me to follow my friends ~x-bonfire-x and ~strideHboo from THV3 [link] and started drawing pieces to attempt to join ~HorseArt-RPG where you play by drawing the horses and event scenes that occur at your stable or with your horses or the horses you wish to "buy" or breed with from other stables, etc. It's a perfect excuse to keep me drawing, learning, and improving. Not to mention the fact that it's great stress relief!!

:D Most welcome. Love the fursona, by the way.

And thanks. That's the result of me attempting to resurrect rusty art skills via the old pencil, pen, and paper method for the line art versus entirely digitally drawn via tablet. Next week, I plan to start putting more effort into figuring out how to waste less paper by learning how to do the line art on the tablet. We'll see what comes of it. :/

the easiest thing to do is to put your scanner in storage. Then you're forced to draw on tablet. :lmao:

Use lots of layers so you don't accidentally erase 'the perfect line'. >.<
And memorize control+z and the shortcut keys for pen and eraser... nothing is worse than having to go switch tools when your working on something. I always loose my spot! XD

what programs do you use?

Well the scanner at my new place doesn't work so yeah, I'm stuck with tablet. I just need to find time and ambition to practice. And here I have the opportunity to start learning Adobe CS2.

Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate your blessings,
As your birthday nears.

Consider special people
Who love you, and who care,
And others who’ve enriched your life
Just by being there.

Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made you who you are.

Another year is a happy gift,
So cut your cake, and say,
"Instead of counting birthdays,
I count blessings every day!"

Love that lives in the heart cannot be so easily terminated by time. Even though the encounter is brief its impression shall last a lifetime. No one can change the direction of love that lives in the heart. If you have loved that in itself is the answer.

Happy Birthday to you!
I wish you a wonderful day full of fun, laughter and happiness!
